4th of January, 1940 · Raate road, Kotiranta, Finland. 9th JR (Infantry Regiment). After the Finnish victory at Suomussalmi, the red army sends in a rifle division from the east to renew the attack toward the west, past Suomussalmi in the direction of Oulu. The 44th rifle division, however, is confined to the Raate road. After initial contact, a series of Finnish flank attacks begins; this splits the Soviet 44th rifle division in no less than 7 pockets, each of these on the Raate road. The Finns attack the groups one by one. In this mission you are in charge of attacking the Haukila pocket, using “motti” tactics.
