The Siege of Sevastopol[]
Briefing[]
June 17th, 1942 · Sevastopol, Crimea. 213th Infantry Regiment, 173rd Engineer Battalion. The German 11th army is trying to take the last parts of the Crimea that are in Soviet hands. They have taken the Kerch peninsula and now they approach Sevastopol from all sides. The Germans meet stiff resistance from the Black Sea fleet and the 'Separate Coastal Army' under Ivan Yefimovich Petrov. The defenders have dug in everywhere, and they are backed by coastal batteries. Progress is slow, and heavy artillery is brought to the front in an attempt to destroy the defenses and punch through to the city proper. In this mission, you will lead the attack on battery number 30, or 'Fort Maksim Gorki 1' as the Germans call it. You will have our heaviest siege mortar at your disposal, use it to silence the defenses. The battery's main guns are already out of action. Use your infantry to protect the left flank. Once you have taken out the first line of defense, storm the hilltop and take the fort. We can't allow any more delays in the offensive. It's up to you to make this work. Good luck!
